When I was just starting out as a professional photographer I was scared of professional photographers… one, I’m a do it yourself kinda person, no emails to random people to ask for help or info starting my business, I read and studied and practiced, I didn’t and couldn’t imagine why someone in a business would want to help out someone just starting out… but two I had a couple run in’s with “pros” who weren’t and that scared me off totally.  about two or three years into my business Miss Abby Rose and I ran into each other, online or in person I have no idea now and she said we should get coffee… and I tried to slide out of it, I think I rescheduled at least once if not twice but being the person she is she didn’t let me get out of it and at coffee I told her I was scared of photographers..
“get over it” she said simply (though slightly sharply) laughing and you know she was right.  she has been a  great inspiration to me in my business and cured me of my fear of photographers (mostly :)  )
now I don’t think of her as a photographer (though she is, and an amazingly talented one at that) I just think of her as a friend.
yesterday we went out to lunch (NOODLES) and she looked so pretty sitting in my car I grabbed my camera and took a few photos. Â Here they are.
abbyroseawwww, love these pics and love you!!!!
Andy OwenNot sure if she would remember this, but Abby was one of the very first people to tell me I needed to raise my prices. This our very first conversation actually, at MWEP hosted by the Rattlesnake Club. I forget if that was 2009 or 2010 now.
If I lived closer I’d totally barge in on your guys’ conversations more. Two of my favorite photographers right here.
Rachel ShomskyJust beautiful…. both of you lovely ladies… :) I was the same way and am at times a little shy of others in our industry, Miss Abby helped me too and I will forever be in her debt!
