Molly and Matt get married . Colony Club . Detroit, MI

I’m super selfish, I have to admit it because I know part of the reason I don’t share as much as I should on the blog is that I hate to let the images go. I covet them. Matt is the brother of Kelly and officiated Kelly and Brandon’s wedding, which I photographed (see it’s awesomesauce here) and I met Matt and Molly and they are just as wonderful as they look. I couldn’t wait for the wedding, and then the day was, well, you’ll see, just perfect and I sent them the photos a few weeks ago but I selfishly kept them to myself… It’s like letting them go, and I hate choosing the “best” I love them all. I love every single laugh and each dance move caught. But I can’t keep something this glorious hidden, so I got it together and made a blog post.

A few things: Molly’s dress was amazing, I will get the maker I always forgot to ask. They read their own vows and they were beautiful. Their cat was there in pillow form and made it in a fair amount of photos and the aged whiskey barrel was there for guests to sign and to hold a photo of Molly’s father who was there in spirit. It was so great to see all the guests sign it and reminisce and talk about him as well. It really made him part of the day. Great dancers, lovely friends, and an amazing family. Thank you both for letting me be there to capture your wedding day.

Elana and Tim . Ann Arbor garden engagement.

Elana and Tim and their kids at the Botanical Gardens Arboretum Peony Garden is where we started. Their wedding is going to be in a few months at Matthaei Botanical Gardens and I know it will be just as pretty. Then a little tour just the bride and groom to be in the contemporary side of the University of Michigan Art Museum. I love getting to know the kids a bit better before the wedding and their parents get a bit of time on their own to practice dance moves and enjoy being engaged.

Stella’s Birthday . Spring . Ann Arbor, MI

They love photographs as much as I do, Stella and her mom I mean and I have had the honor to photograph this young lady since she was almost a year old.

Now she is a bit older and loves fashion. She styled herself (one of my favorites was the blue blouse in the first few photos, and it was from the most beautiful shop Muse Atelier and I was geeked to hear that because my friend Tanya Luz owns and runs Muse and it is absolutely the best. ) and we went for a little bit of attitude for a few with the movie star sunglasses and the casual updo. The cat wanted in on the action and since she worked so well as an accessory we made sure she was included <3

Someday I fully expect to be seeing Stella take on the fashion world!

These are my favorites!

Harmony’s family . Peony Garden . Ann Arbor, MI

The best images usually come from the captures that are unplanned. Harmony and David were okay with a plan of no real plans, Grandma and Grandpa came along and it was much more like a family outing I got to come along to then a photo session, at least we tried to keep it that way :) The kids hated it less then they would a traditional sit and grin and I get more opportunities to capture more natural shots. This is how to do it right and make it fun and I enjoyed every moment!! Hope you all enjoy the results!! <3

Abby and John’s Spring Planterra Wedding

Abby and John’s Spring Planterra Conservatory wedding was absolutely perfect. Every detail was stunning and their joy bubbled over to everyone. It was infectious. From the sweet “just around the corner” first look to our groom serenading the bride with some old school rap. (pretty good too). Congratulations to you and your families, it was my pleasure to document your wedding day.

Kitsie, Tai and Waka welcome little Kahu . Chicago, Illinois

Kitsie and Tai are amazing people. I love them, and their whole family and the new baby stole my heart (and feel asleep right above it). They let me come to their home and just be with them as they spent time with Grandpa and Aunt M and allowed me to photograph who they are. That is a gift I am grateful for. The joy and love they express so generously is a delight and a honor to capture.

I still keep a blog, it's consistently regularly updated but not often. I like it because I can go back almost 10 years and see how I've grown and changed as an artist and how my studio has changed along with me.

Sharing my latest work both personal and commercial. Leave a comment or say hello :)
