    My name is Melissa Squires.. What I do is to capture frames of you that show your real true inner shining rock star self. It isn’t about being someone else, dressing some certain way and you don't need any secret sauce, you are what makes YOU and wonderful and interesting and special. My images reflect the beauty, joy, and inner soul of my subjects, and the moments they inhabit.. these images are forever.

    Photography is how I express myself, how I see, how I celebrate who we are today.

    My son is my breath and my husband is my life. I will be quite satisfied when I am 80 if I have loved them well and taken some amazing photographs along the way.

The whole point of switching to the new blog style a few months ago was to be more bloggy, well I’m coming up for some air and wanted to share my excitement..

I saw the preview for “The Golden Compass” yesterday and was reminded again how excited I am to see the movie! What is even more wonderful is that it looks like, from what I can see in the preview, that the movie is sticking very close to the book, the whole “Dark Materials” series is a beautiful, scary, thrilling and intelligent set of books and it was refreshing to see a set of young adult/childrens books, that strive to be thought provoking and challenge children and our views of the world.

Betty - I saw this preview last week and I was blown away! It’s just liekebeing in Warcraft! Now do you see why I play?
These are not books I’ve read, I’m ashamed to say.
