Speaking of new music, I was listening to Studio360 on my way home from work last night and heard this interview with this girl rocker, Thao Nguyen and her Vietnamese mom. And not only did she and her mom sound really together and cool, but her music was pretty amazing too. At one point she talks about how going to open mic night people would automatically dismiss her because she’s a girl with a guitar, until she started playing and people realized, girl with a guitar doesn’t necessarily equal folk or confessional music.February 25, 2008 – 8:05 pm
