• Welcome to my here today

My name is Melissa Squires.. What I do is to capture frames of you that show your real true inner shining rock star self. It isn’t about being someone else, dressing some certain way and you don't need any secret sauce, you are what makes YOU and wonderful and interesting and special. My images reflect the beauty, joy, and inner soul of my subjects, and the moments they inhabit.. these images are forever.

Photography is how I express myself, how I see, how I celebrate who we are today.

My son is my breath and my husband is my life. I will be quite satisfied when I am 80 if I have loved them well and taken some amazing photographs along the way.

new music

Jen put a desperate call out for new music, I got a last.fm account and for your listening enjoyment threw up a little jukebox, it’s NOT automagic lol so you aren’t forced to listen while you are here, but if you want to get a quick sneak at what I’m listening too hit the play button! Let me know what you think, it may end up being taken down if it loads to long and I’ll put album covers on instead! Thanks for the inspiration Jenn, I’ve been making myself listen to a lot more music lately, it’ll be fun to share some of my finds.. Christina Fellows is a sleeper, some great stuff on her new album!

Nicki - Speaking of new music, I was listening to Studio360 on my way home from work last night and heard this interview with this girl rocker, Thao Nguyen and her Vietnamese mom. And not only did she and her mom sound really together and cool, but her music was pretty amazing too. At one point she talks about how going to open mic night people would automatically dismiss her because she’s a girl with a guitar, until she started playing and people realized, girl with a guitar doesn’t necessarily equal folk or confessional music.February 25, 2008 – 8:05 pm

Michelle - Have to come out of lurkdom for this…

Very cool! I love the playlist on the side.

We have the same taste in music.(:February 25, 2008 – 11:45 pm

Kim L - You’re making me want to get one, and with my highly music-snobbish friends, I’ll never be able to live down the shame when my favourite musicals pop into the list. :)February 27, 2008 – 11:24 am
