• Welcome to my here today

My name is Melissa Squires.. What I do is to capture frames of you that show your real true inner shining rock star self. It isn’t about being someone else, dressing some certain way and you don't need any secret sauce, you are what makes YOU and wonderful and interesting and special. My images reflect the beauty, joy, and inner soul of my subjects, and the moments they inhabit.. these images are forever.

Photography is how I express myself, how I see, how I celebrate who we are today.

My son is my breath and my husband is my life. I will be quite satisfied when I am 80 if I have loved them well and taken some amazing photographs along the way.

Booking weddings now for November and December 2010 and into 2011

creativity

I’ve been bombarded lately (wonderfully so) by links and people and information and videos and sites all talking about creativity, all of them agreeing that it is the only hope for our future, that whether someone agrees that art and learning and creativity is important is irrelevant, what is is, the words revolution and change are buzzing around in all walks of life and it seems to be stemming from the realization that the old ways aren’t working on so many levels.

That’s scary for people who like rules, and order and grades :) I love grades, I’ve used grading systems in my own life for years. but that’s a comfort zone, not a faith. Interesting times ahead.. hopefully.
One of the links that has come to me half a dozen times in the last few days from a myriad of sources is a place called Ted Ideas worth spreading. It’s brilliant thinkers, clever thinkers, interesting thinkers all kinds of people talking about ideas and art and creativity and a myriad (word of the day) other things.. I thought if it’s coming at me from so many places, well maybe this is one thing I’m supposed to share.

Have you already been there, what do you think, see anything interesting, share the specific link in the comments :)

Mark Wilson - Within the context of art and/or music… creativity, lack of rules, revolution, etc., can all be helpful and constructive.

Within the context of culture and Western civilization… revolution, creativity and change for changes sake can often and have often led to misery.April 4, 2008 – 7:01 pm
