• Welcome to my here today

My name is Melissa Squires.. What I do is to capture frames of you that show your real true inner shining rock star self. It isn’t about being someone else, dressing some certain way and you don't need any secret sauce, you are what makes YOU and wonderful and interesting and special. My images reflect the beauty, joy, and inner soul of my subjects, and the moments they inhabit.. these images are forever.

Photography is how I express myself, how I see, how I celebrate who we are today.

My son is my breath and my husband is my life. I will be quite satisfied when I am 80 if I have loved them well and taken some amazing photographs along the way.

alyssa and cj engagement

We met in Benton Harbor, through a blizzard that stopped just long enough for us to have the most amazing session. Even though it was so cold and windy we went to the beach in December. I believe I’ll be traveling back next winter to shoot the beach, who knew the freezing beach in the middle of winter could be so beautiful. I wanted to share a few frames before the holiday.

Thank you Alyssa and CJ for sharing the afternoon and such beautiful spaces with me.

tonya - mel, these are like magic. i love the processing on the 2nd so so much. one of your own actions? love the snowflakes in here, so delicate. i love that i can always see “you” in each of your sessions. not a style per se, but a committment, a passion. you are doing exactly what you are meant to do.December 31, 2008 – 2:54 pm

melissa - tonya I thought I answered! no it’s a lovely mix of sharpening and then softening… and a slight cross processed layer… and a bit of fairy dust lol (I honestly can’t remember if I did something else!)January 9, 2009 – 1:47 am
