• Welcome to my here today

My name is Melissa Squires.. What I do is to capture frames of you that show your real true inner shining rock star self. It isn’t about being someone else, dressing some certain way and you don't need any secret sauce, you are what makes YOU and wonderful and interesting and special. My images reflect the beauty, joy, and inner soul of my subjects, and the moments they inhabit.. these images are forever.

Photography is how I express myself, how I see, how I celebrate who we are today.

My son is my breath and my husband is my life. I will be quite satisfied when I am 80 if I have loved them well and taken some amazing photographs along the way.

Booking weddings now for November and December 2010 and into 2011

I don’t think that I can ever say that winter is not just as beautiful a time of year to photograph as summer.. oh it’s true the sun sets so much earlier but even though it sets earlier it still has something really beautiful to say.

I love taking peoples portraits, really that’s the only reason I do what I do, to capture moments and people and friends and family. Sometimes it’s really easy to get caught up in all of the day to day other stuff, but when it comes down to it, I do this because I love what I create and I love to share it. That’s it. It’s not more complicated then that.

I get so busy I don’t always have time to see or play with the people I love. Sometimes they have to schedule a session with me to get a few hours of time in (and dinner afterward). Nicki you are my best friend and I love you. Thanks for believing in what I do.

lilia - Oh, what a totally magical shoot! These are just gorgeous, and I am right there with you on loving the immediacy and intimacy of creating a portrait. It’s just the most amazing rush to look through the lens and see someone’s spirit, *right* *there*. :-) xoxo, LiliaDecember 19, 2008 – 3:37 am

Betty - Wow! That second portrait in the pink hat – it’s like raspberry sorbet – so edible.

changing light » here.today - [...] I am booked through October into November. Diane Arbus said her favorite light was found at the end of day in the winter and indeed I would have to agree it is a lovely soft pale comforting light. It seems happy to be warming us through the chill. I am booking weddings for 2010 and do have a few dates available in November.
