  • Welcome to my here today

My name is Melissa Squires.. What I do is to capture frames of you that show your real true inner shining rock star self. It isn’t about being someone else, dressing some certain way and you don't need any secret sauce, you are what makes YOU and wonderful and interesting and special. My images reflect the beauty, joy, and inner soul of my subjects, and the moments they inhabit.. these images are forever.

Photography is how I express myself, how I see, how I celebrate who we are today.

My son is my breath and my husband is my life. I will be quite satisfied when I am 80 if I have loved them well and taken some amazing photographs along the way.

there goes Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Ares

Being a photographers son is not a bad thing, but it’s not always an easy thing either. Sometimes mom is shooting holiday cards for her sisters inlaws and the bean gets stuck standing there for light testing and sometimes you know cause mom loves him more then her own heart she can’t help but put the raindeer antlers on his head, because you know, it’s so freaking cute and sometimes the bean isn’t so happy about it.

Ares wanted his hair dyed after he saw my hairdressers hair (I did take him with me for the express purpose) of course the punky colour he picked was a light aqua blue and we got a bit of green. His teacher says they debate it in his class, one day the kids lean to blue the next green.

We were playing guess the animal and daddy said pink skin and green hair and Ares guessed a goblin, but was not pleased when it turned out to be him. I called him my little goblin this morning and he said “I’m not a goblin, I’m Ares” and that about sums him up fabulously. He’s just him and I like it.

and it isn’t really so bad to be a photographers son and he’s a sweet heart for posing in reindeer antlers to help me test the lights, I have some in the santa hat too :)

jennifer Buehrer - these turned out great. I love the color and the ok,-let’s-do-this-already lookDecember 18, 2008 – 11:55 pm
