jenay and michael engagement

I grew up in Ann Arbor, and I drove cab in Ann Arbor. I love the city and I know the city pretty well. So when I drove up to Jenay and Michael’s home I couldn’t have been more delighted they live in one of my favorite neighborhoods, they have the sweetest home and it suits them perfectly. Even better, we spent the late afternoon enjoying places I’d been and seen my whole life, but through Jenay and Michaels eyes (and cheesy though it may sound love) it looked completely different and even more wonderful to me than I remember. We went to the market, walked downtown and did a bit of hanging out about their house. Simple things that are made special when they are done with someone you care about. That is, I think, what being married is all about, can’t wait for their big day.

sara and dan . engagement

Sara and Dan met up with me the week before their wedding for their engagement session :) I love Sara and Dan. I love engagement sessions, they are so darn, well nice (just like Sara and Dan). I love getting to know my my brides and grooms better, I love getting to talk and learn more about who they are and what is important to them. I love that the session is a little oasis of quality time for them and a great way for all of us to be that much more relaxed on the big day. The wedding pics will be up soon but here are a few from the week before :)

sharon and gerald engagement

I had never been to cranbrook and really really loved exploring it with Sharon and Gerald. Sharon is a dream, so lovely and generous enough to share their secret word for cuddling with me :) Gerald made me choke up when he inadvertently gave me the best compliment I’d ever gotten. Thank you both.

note: those bubbles really ARE that colour, they explained it to me, they have been in the works for years! these were one of the first available and were ordered special from overseas (correct me if I’m wrong Gerald!) just for our session, fantastic stuff.

ruby and josh engagement

I have fallen in love with art museums, the art of course is wonderful, but I’ve fallen in love with the stairs, the hidden nooks, the curved walls and windows. I was down in Cleveland recently and shot at their art instillation and I met Ruby and Josh at our own local UofM Art museum. We didn’t stay the whole time, we wandered a bit as well, but I’ll start their session post there, and I’ll end it at the bottom with a bit of dancing, I cannot resist stop motion these days.

Their first ceremony is next week, I get to shoot two weddings, one here in the states, and one destination with Stevi and Jose, I cannot wait. Romance, love and fun, it’s a wickedly wonderful combination.
