I saw the preview for “The Golden Compass” yesterday and was reminded again how excited I am to see the movie! What is even more wonderful is that it looks like, from what I can see in the preview, that the movie is sticking very close to the book, the whole “Dark Materials” series is a beautiful, scary, thrilling and intelligent set of books and it was refreshing to see a set of young adult/childrens books, that strive to be thought provoking and challenge children and our views of the world.

Plus seriously, the polar bear, oh wow. The stuff dreams are made of.

I’ve had an amazingly busy and wonderful week. I started taking a class I’m really excited about as it gets into the nitty gritty of medium format cameras and commercial studio work (total fun) and I’ve had a flurry of great sessions with some wonderful kids! Even more nifty Saturday is a wedding for the wonderful Wolfe Family, whose engagments I shot a few months ago. (Good thing we have Labour day off here in the states, I’m going to need it! I probably won’t be answering calls Monday :) )

Finally I was notified at the end of last week and then the day before yesterday that two images have been published at two of my favorite online magazines. The first image, seen small here is one of my all time favorites you can see it at flak photo if you want :) and the second image is a totally fun one I took this summer and it’s at file magazine . So cool to see stuff out and about on the web.

working on a few baby announcements, it’s so hard to choose. I love designing layouts, from simple to complex. spent some time going through some of my old scrapbooks yesterday. it’s so wonderful to be able to bring some of that design experience into my photography. I’m working on an extras section for agirlinlove.photography for specialty items, collages, storyboards, cards and books. I’ll let you all know when it’s done here too!
