Sean doesn’t get in front of the camera as often as I’d like or he should, I took this frame Saturday. It’s his birthday today. I just wanted to share it and say that I am so happy that he is in my life, that he is my husband, that he is who he is. I cannot imagine a life without him. Happy birthday love :)
All Aubrey told me about her and Tyler really was “we’re lake people.” Which was true, their wedding was held at her parents beautiful cottage in South Western Michigan. A boat brought the wedding party in and whisked them away at the ed of the ceremony. What she didn’t tell me but what I found out soon enough was that she and Tyler are madly in love, they are both beautiful inside and out, and that their wedding was beyond beautiful with equal parts fun and romance.

She was playing the ukulele when I came in and he was looking up old episodes of one of my favorite tv shows on netflix… relaxed and ready for their day. I think the best thing you can do on your wedding day is to enjoy it. These are the frames I picked to tell their story. I asked Sarah to say a few words about her day for me to share (thanks Sarah!)

i could write for a long time about this — how happy we were that family and friends came from near and far to celebrate with us, how touched we were that my sister surprised us with a handmade quilt comprised of squares from various family & friends, how perfect the day was (storm and all!), how wonderful the music was (quartet AND jazz band), how delicious the food and drink was, how amazing the decor was, how thoughtful our minister was, and so many other hows. but, i think i’ll just say that weddings go by in a whirlwind. i was told that mine would be over in an instant. and that proved mostly true – it felt like it was over in about seven instants: pre-wedding, wedding, relief! [read: cocktail hour!], giant terrifying-for-3-minutes-but-ultimately-a-crowd-pleaser thunderstorm, delicious dinner, dancing. each instant went by… instantly! thank you melissa for capturing everything so perfectly so john & i could live in the instants. we had the time of our lives!

I want each senior I photograph to be able to express who they are and who they are becoming. I think Emily needs no coaching on this, she is truly genuine and it was a joy to share the day celebrating her graduation.

I drove into Chicago to spend a perfectly perfect afternoon with Bri and Michael. It’s soooo fun to shoot in the “my kind of town” city and I have to say I felt a bit like a kid in a candy store. Bri and Michael took me up first to see the view from where he asked her to marry him (romantic and gorgeous) and then we just walked about, enjoying the city. This is what we photographed
